Rusty's offers a unique music location. We work hard to maintain a relaxed professional "attitude free" environment for both the musician, their fans and our sanity. We like to book a wide range of music, but our current line-up is predominately rock, alternative, pop, reggae and occasional blues-rock. We try not to limit ourselves, so we are always open to something not in our usual line-up. Rusty's initially books bands for a 1 hour set. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to do guarantees. We are in a position to renegotiate play time, cover and percentages after a band has shown a consistently strong draw. In October we will be starting to book for our fourth Battle of the Bands competition, which will start in January. The details are still being finalized but submissions are now being accepted. If you are interested in playing here, please follow these submission suggestions: They are required, preferably on CD, with the nasty shrink-wrap removed. Please do not send videos. Demos cannot be returned. Include some info about your band, but not your life histories. Make it brief and to the point. The worst thing you can do is to send no information at all. If you can't take the time to put together some information for me - how can I be confident you will take the time to promote? List 5 or 6 venues you have previously played, preferably on the west side. Don't waste your time listing every place you ever played. And definitely don't waste your time sending copies of flyers or ads for the places you played. Just the list will be fine. Make sure to include a phone number and name. Including addresses, fax and/or email is good, because then I have everything I need if I book you, but it should never take the place of including a phone number. And the name - you have to include the name. Have you ever tried to leave a message for nobody? There are no bonus points for including matches, stickers, gum, candy, etc. - didn't your mom tell you not to accept candy from strangers? Please include whether you would be open to doing a doing a Tuesday or Wednesday and/or if you have an interest in the next Battle of the Bands. Above all be professional. If you drop off your demo package, please remember that the staff there has a job to do and may not be able to answer your questions. They are not being rude - they just need to take care of our guests, who may someday be fans of yours. If you would like to mail your demo package, please send it to:
